"THE SECURITY FRANCHISE AN EVOLUTION SINCE 1992"
The Inception of The Security Franchise
Experienced marketers know that the secret of success in business is to find a need and fill it. That is precisely what the company’s founders did. They recognized the need for a guarding service that was professional in its approach, hi-tech in the implementation of the service, reliable, affordable and able to implement and maintain an effective B-BBEE program. The Security Franchise is the result.
Our Approach
The Security Franchise has its origins in delivering security services and have been doing so since 1992. We have been involved in security vetting, training, systems installation and manpower delivery.
The Security Franchise provides a seamless range of products and services, intended to encompass the overall management of the customer’s property, systems and contracts.

The Inception of The Security Franchise
People who know Glenn well are convinced that security is written into his genetic make-up. After joining the South African National Defence Force and receiving basic military training, he received access to advanced training in just about all aspects of security imaginable. Glenn carries instructor ratings in various aspects relating to the industry, PSIRA related training, weapons handling, defensive and offensive driving, and martial arts, to name a few.
After this Glenn left the army to set up his first business, TACDEV. This was at the time, in the 1990s, that the new ANC government realised that security and crowd control would play an important part in the orderly transfer of power and interviewed several would-be service providers. TACDEV stood out and obtained the contract to train more than 1 000 cadres in appropriate security techniques. The training contract extended over several years and was of sufficiently high standard that eventually, a number of graduates who had also received training in training skills could take over TACDEV’s role.
